Recycled thoughts

When we were taking the trash and creating things with it, I thought about the old footage I threw away. What could I do with old footage that never made it to the cut? This project taught me that nothing is useless just unused. I feel as though I have the newfound ability to always be able to produce something meaningful from scraps.

Facing Fears

In my experiment i called my mom and told her that my girlfriend was pregnant.  My fear was not being able to stick to my plan because of an extreme mishap. The class was shocked i chose my mother to experiment on but understood what I was talking about. Ms. Beth said she would make a new rule because of it. My expected reaction from my mother was completely wrong. She did not cuss me out, she was not thrilled but she was not completely negative. She was very supportive and made me feel like I still had a chance and there was still hope for my personal future. Most importantly she made me feel as though she knew it wasn't something I couldn't handle. This made me feel even more confident about what Im doing. Im not sure I would do something like that to my Mom again but if I did it would be to her face so I could see the reaction.
Sadly I dont know the name of the girl that did my favorite project which was passing out slips of paper to everyone to find out what their opinion of her was. She did this to escape the fear of being judged Im always focused on trying to be friendly because I know what I can be perceived as give the way I dress and my hair etc...  This project made me think that in my project thats what I wanted, to find out how I would be judged. In mine however I learned about her feelings on me, my girl, and the situation.

Whats Stuck

1. The most important thing I took from this class was that the fishbowls we are put in have a purpose which is to guide but they cannot stifle us but must make us use the limits we are given in a creative manor.

2. I also held on to the idea of taking time to daydream and ask those wild what ifs. Those questions are the seeds of innovation.

3. I also held on to the singing bowl, not only because it is amazingly awesome but because it reminds me that there can always be an alternative use and view of something.

This class has been extremely different because it has allowed me to take what i want from lectures and discussions and find how they benefit me. Its like the bible in the sense that everyone can find there own meaning in it whether it be literal or metaphorical. The class has adapted to me and allowed me to search and find my creativity in different avenues through different techniques like finding new uses or creating one.

During the remainder of the class I would like to learn about more creative people and there techniques for discovery. I would also like to keep experimenting on new ways to create and come up with ideas to create.

New Uses

The video that i made was not the best idea for a totem so I decided to take another piece of the experience which was a beer cap. I took beer caps and made hot new hair accesories.

Take away

Well there were awesome things taken away from class. I especially enjoyed the singing bowl and talking about using things beyond their expected uses. I was completely thrown by the pony situation but to each their own. People really had awesome totems and the super bubbles were cool too.

Take Away

The thing that stood out the most were the rocks because of the way they were presented. I was trying to take the rocks for face value but when she turned off the lights they were really amazing. The way and colors that glowed off of these rocks were really nice. I liked hearing everybody's tiger ideas and eating the cookies
